HOW BEYONCE BRANDS HER BABY

"Oh Beyonce. Well would you expect any less? Since announcing to the world at the VMAs that she was pregnant or as I like to think it was called “That Time When Beyonce caressed her baby bump for three hours and they gave out some awards.” Well since the beginning of this month Beyonce has been showing the public that in no way is a baby slowing this 29-year-old mogul down. If anything her pregnancy (and dear Lord I hope that child is talented) is helping her leverage her career because now she can incorporate the motherhood angle into her ever-growing brand. “Beyonce essentially works for herself,” says career coach
and Sirius radio host Maggie Mistal. “And her personality is her brand. So the more she connect with her audience, the better—getting the whole world excited that she’s pregnant is a great brand move.”
Beyonce has promoted her pregnancy very strategically. First there was the Mommyjacked VMAs. Yes, her performance of “Love On Top” was amazing and became my favorite song for a solid week, but it mostly received attention because at the end of the number she opened her jacket to reveal a small, adorable, Beyoncified baby bump. After the news was revealed 8,868 tweets were sent per second, according to Techland.
Now she is saying that her pregnancy is making her feel even more empowered (did the woman who wrote Run the World(Girls) need more empowerment?) Basically she is saying her pregnancy is contributing to her greater entrepreneurial spirit. She is currently promoting her new fragrance and starting her own record label. She plans to start a boy band, direct other artists and make documentaries. And she will be starring in the Clint Eastwood directed remake of A Star is Born. Unlike pregnant Hilary Duff, films do get pushed back for this pregnant actress/singer. “It is important that I don’t look at this as like an illness. I am not sick. I am the same woman and I have the same passions,” she said.
But don’t worry, the baby will be right by her side while she does all these things. “Yes, I will probably be that way. I am sure I will. I think that it shouldn’t stop you. I think of course my life is going to change, and I definitely will make sacrifices, but you know, I think I will be able to bring hopefully my little rider with me,” she said. As Jessica Rose of XX Factor wrote, “she does all the humanizing, stars-are-just-like us stuff like talk about her over-developed sense of smell and how “empowering” it is to have a baby growing inside you.”
And then let’s not forget how Beyonce is incorporating fashion into her pregnancy. “It was really difficult to conceal,” admits the curvy star. “But now… I can be proud and excited about it, I’m having so much fun shopping — it’s great!” Maybe she was trying to conceal it before, but since announcing it at the VMAs Beyonce has worn sparkles, leather shorts and a white bikini. Now I probably wouldn’t wear any of those things normally, much less when I was pregnant unless I was on an abandoned island, but I give her praise for having courage and rocking those outfits. She is proud of her body and why shouldn’t she be? This inspires other women to not look at pregnancy as a fashion death sentence.
Though her fashion line, House of Dereon, doesn’t have a maternity line (yet), Beyonce has been promoting it as one. ” It actually is really good for the maternity…we do have some things that I am still trying to rock!” The collection has two upcoming international campaigns and Beyonce just showed the new line at London Fashion Week."
Even pregnant Beyonce knows how to run the world."
